Steering Wheel Sensitivity

When driving with adaptive cruise control on and lane centering engaged, I keep getting warning about keeping your hands on the wheel. But I already have both hands on the steering wheel. Is the sensitivity based on hand pressure or location on the steering wheel? Can the sensitivity be lowered?
Any feedback on this issue will be helpful.

I think it has to do with how often the steering wheel gets some kind of micro-adjustment feedback from the driver (little twitches left or right), which kind of runs counter to the whole point of lane centering. At least that's the best I could figure when using the feature on a long road trip recently.

Thanks for your response Gurgeh. I will try giving the steering wheel some slight “twitches “ and see how that goes.

Gurgeh you were right. Small micro turns frequently applied to the steering wheel kept the warning signal off. It didn’t matter if I had one or both hands on the steering wheel. It also didn’t matter how much pressure was applied or the location of my hands on the steering wheel.
Thanks for your help.
