Lincoln Continental gets suicide doors back

There were some rumors a few weeks ago that Lincoln may be bringing back suicide doors to the Continental and this has now been confirmed. To mark their 80th anniversary Lincoln will be offering a limited Coach Door Edition, which offers this styling throwback to models from the 60's. Doesn't look like the are doing the conversion in house. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/12/17/...doors-97jv43x/

I won't be entirely surprised if Limo fleet operators now place the new Conti at a higher priority. Everyone dreams of being driven around in a Rolls but can't afford it.
Now finally we can get a bit closer to that experience, all in a way that's unique to Lincoln.

Lincoln really makes some great vehicles and this is another fine example. Can't wait to see the final Aviator!

Wow that is a beautiful looking sedan, but I'm guessing it wont come cheap ($100k). With only 80 models being made this car is going to become quite a collectors piece. Imo this should have been a part of the lineup from the beginning.

If build quality if what it should be then we'll definitely see values go up but its been a while since Lincoln has made special moves like this.

Its being reported that all of the Coach Door Edition Continentals have completely sold out for 2019. It took just 48 hours for them to sell through the 80 planned models. Maybe they will consider a second production run for next year?

As great as that would be it would impact resale values and damage any potential for future specialized models. Lincoln is better off keeping it limited as possible.
